Intelesense develops Hawaii Geospatial Data Repository

07-01-10 -- HONOLULU -- Intelesense Technologies today announced that it had delivered the Hawaii Geospatial Data Repository (HGDR).  This grid-based cluster of servers is designed for advanced research in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other collaborative geospatial applications for the UH NSF EPSCoR IMUA and Track II programs, including the Pacific-Area Climate Modeling and Analysis Network (PACMAN) project, in collaboration with the University of Alaska.

The grid-based computing cluster of machines is similar to Intelesense's own internal grid-based architecture and empowers researchers at the University of Hawaii with advanced data acquisition, storage, management, analysis, and collaboration technologies.  The initial configuration consists of two 48TB data servers, compute servers, and front-end web and application hosting servers, with internal and external gigabit networks for on-campus and external collaboration.
