Intelesense Awarded Contract for Environmental Monitoring

07-01-06 -- HONOLULU -- The University of Hawaii Center for Conservation Research and Training (CCRT) and Intelesense TechnologiesTM announced today an expansion of their project for next-generation integrated environmental monitoring. The new contract would further expand the technology development and broad deployment of Intelesense Technologies on the islands of Oahu, Kauai, and Maui.

"We are very pleased to be able to continue refining our technology development for conservation research in Hawaii", noted Dr Carsten Mundt, CTO of Intelesense, "Besides making a significant contribution to environmental research, our deployments in Hawaii are excellent test beds". The system, first developed and deployed as part of the University of Hawaii's EPSCoR program, is the basis for the Intelesense worldwide distributed wireless mesh network of sensors. "We are honored to be part of the Hawaii EPSCoR program and look forward to expanding our joint work to understand the environment and its people", added Dr Kevin Montgomery, CEO of Intelesense.

Intelesense was spun off from Stanford University in early 2005 and has corporate offices in Honolulu, Hawaii with research and development offices in Silicon Valley, California and field offices with collaborative partners in deployment zones worldwide. Current projects range from protecting some of the most beautiful and biodiverse places on our planet, tracking emerging infectious diseases to ensure public health, and helping people from around the world connect and interact with each other and better understand their environment and themselves.
