Vietnam has identified water borne illness as a serious problem of special political emphasis. Statistics from United Nations Development Program (UNDP) show that 80% of human illness in rural Vietnam is caused by water-borne disease or pollution. Linking environmental factors to disease outbreaks of emerging infectious diseases provides valuable information for rapid assessment and intervention.
Public Health Monitoring
Intelesense, in collaboration with the US Army MRMC/TATRC, the US State Department/Health and Human Services, the University of Hawaii, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, and the Hanoi School of Public Health, has deployed sensors and developed reporting tools to help provide local agencies with the information they need to manage public health resources.
